We created this project to track the City of Ithaca’s progress in achieving the goals they committed to when they passed the Ithaca Green New Deal (IGND) resolution in 2019. 

When the City passed the IGND, it made a ten-year commitment to address climate change, economic inequality, and racial injustice. We applaud this effort to make a crucial and substantial contribution to climate solutions and to provide reliable, affordable energy to all.

Through a series of bi-weekly meetings over the course of 2021 and 2022, our Climate Reality team came to understand the scope of the work to be done, the foundational elements of the plan, and the dynamic environment in which the transition will take place. We thank the City of Ithaca Office of Sustainability for sharing the details of their plan to meet this commitment.
